Usabiltiy and Heuristic Evaluation of Indiana University OneStart Classifieds

Design Problem: My team and I were charged with the task of designing and conducting usability tests of the Indiana University Onestart Classifieds for the UITS User Experience Group. OneStart is a web portal is intended to provide easy and personalized access to a variety of services provided by the university. The OneStart Classifieds is a service within the OneStart web portal that allows a user to review posted ads as well as post and delete their own ads. The functionality and effectiveness of the OneStart Classifieds were examined through the usability study detailed within the document listed below. In addition, the team preformed a cognitive walkthrough and a heuristic evaluation of OneStart Classifieds. Research and Design Methods: Cognitive Walkthrough Qualitative and Quantitative Usability Test Design Qualitative and Quantitative Usability Testing Think Aloud Protocol Heuristic Evaluation Role: I actively participated in all aspects of the activities mentioned above. My most valuable contribution involved the analysis of the qualitative data and the final paper write-up.
